Global Civics: Navigating Global Dynamics, Challenges, and Options
This course is for students interested in the dynamics of global challenges and our options for their navigating. It can be a supplementary course for debaters to enrich their knowledge, or an independent course for those specifically interested in fields of ecology, humanitarian aid, international relations, etc. Students are encouraged to ask their coaches to devote some classes to the topics of students' specific interests.
Target Learning Outcomes
Gain comprehensive knowledge on the causes and advanced solutions to climate change, a nuanced understanding of the biggest current humanitarian crisis, and the basics of global health and global security. Develop essential skills in critical thinking, written and oral analysis, critical reading of various knowledge sources, and applying specific knowledge to multidisciplinary issues.
Feminist Civics: Empowering Women and Addressing Global Challenges
This course is for students with a passion for female rights and understanding the unique challenges that women face as well as possible solutions to them. It can be a supplementary course for debaters to enrich their knowledge, or an independent course for those specifically interested in fields relating to gender and feminism. Students are encouraged to ask their coaches to devote some classes to the topics of students' specific interests.

Explore the deconstruction of gender-based narratives and stereotypes, gain insights into the global gender wage gap, delve into specific female issues across different parts of the world, and address topics such as domestic violence and practical advice for female career advancement. Develop critical thinking, written and oral analysis skills, enhance critical reading abilities across various knowledge sources, and apply specific knowledge to tackle multidisciplinary issues.
