Introductory Debate: Building Essential Skills for Success
This debate programme is intended to provide students with a good and robust introduction to debate. We believe that no one can achieve high-level success without mastering the essential skills. This is why we require all of our students with no prior experience in debate or debate-like activities to complete one term of this course before moving on to Advanced or Competitive level.
Target Learning Outcomes
Develop essential debate skills including understanding basic debate format rules, crafting effective speech and argument structures, employing refutation strategies, and enhancing note-taking abilities. Gain knowledge on the role of education, human rights, and basic philosophy, providing a solid foundation for engaging in meaningful debates.

Advanced Debate: Elevate Your Skills for Competitive Success
This course is designed for passionate debaters who are considering pursuing competitive debate. It is designed to develop intermediate debate skills through the use of challenging domestic debate topics in various debate formats (Canadian National Debate Format or World Schools). Students work on specific debate skills in class to help them move up to the competitive level more quickly.

Enhance your debate skills to new heights with our advanced debate program. Refine the quality of your argumentation, master advanced framing techniques, develop impactful speaking styles, delve into multiple levels of refutation, and tackle principle motions.
